Plot forces your character to change. Recap Day 5:
- Luke’s (Star Wars) encounter with R2-D2 leads him to Obi-Wan Kenobe. His encounter with Obi-wan protects him from death by storm troopers who kill his aunt and uncle and draws him into the rebellion against the Empire.
- Matrix 1—Neo gets caught by his employer for his after-hours hacking activities. The agents show up posing as law officers. Neo is contacted by Trinity and Morpheus and told to step out on a ledge (literally) to gain the answer to the question: What is the Matrix?
- Winifred (Tuck Everlasting), steps outside her family’s fence to explore the world beyond and meets a family that teachers her to “not fear death, but rather an unlived life.”
- Ralf (Wreck-It Ralf), is the villain of his own video game. But when he leaves his game to win a medal and feel like a hero, he encounters a young girl, Penelope, who dreams of racing. He learns that the greatest prize is friendship, and he helps her accomplish her dream.
At the beginning of the stories, the characters are much like we are, trapped by their fears. Fear of leaving the farm, fear of never living, fear of being alone or unappreciated. Plot forces these characters to confront their fears, and either be crushed by them or conquer them.
